A Scarlet Macaw nibbeling on a branch in the Amazon Basin. Although this specific species is not endangered, the majority of the 17 living Macaw species are, as their habitat is rapidly declining from deforestation in Central and South America.

We should refrain from having parrots as pets as hundreds of thousands of them are still being captured in the wild for the pet trade.

The proceeds of this artwork will go to the World Parrot Trust, a global non-profit organisation focused on parrot conservation with over 30 years of experience in the field. The projects they coordinate support many different species including macaws, parrots, lorys, conures, parakeets, etc., many of which are endangered.
