There is nothing like hearing the meows of Mediterranean gulls in early spring above your head. You can find them foraging in coastal meadows in W- and S-Europe but also more inland sometimes. This little watercolor painting was a study to capture their general characteristics.

The proceeds of this artwork will go to VOC Oostende, a coastal wildlife rehabilitation center in Belgium that rescues thousands of wild animals every year. Most notably are the large scale oil spill rescue of 500 Mute Swans and several marine bird oil spill rescues they did. It is an ideal non-profit to support if you'd like to support a local wildlife rehab center.
