Steller's Sea Eagles are amongst the biggest birds of prey in the world, and they live in very remote coastal regions around Japan, North Korea and Kamchatka (Russia). Their unique shoulder feather pattern and their pronounced yellow bills are unmistakable. Their grandeur is seen by few people as it is hard to get to the regions where they live. These eagles are currently listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, with decreasing trends.
The proceeds of this artwork will go to BirdLife International's Red List Appeal, a fundraising campaign focused specifically on saving endangered bird species across the whole world. Projects like this maximise the chances of endangered birds surviving in the wild, remote places this world still has.
