This portrait celebrates a species that may have the most disturbing conservation story yet. Wolves have been/are feared, hunted, trapped and expelled for centuries by humans and remain greatly misunderstood by the public. Many organisations worldwide are trying to turn the tide by raising awareness about these beautiful animals and promote coexistence.

In Europe, many wolf conservation projects are under the European Commission's Life Project umbrella, which means they are already funded and donations are often not possible. There are however some non-profit organisations that accept donations like EuroNatur and the European Wilderness Society. The proceeds of this particular artwork will go to the latter, who have several protection projects running across Europe. A big focus is on education, dismantling illegal logging in Eastern Europe and combatting illegal poaching of wildlife like the wolf.
