ORIGINAL NOW SOLD DURING PRE-SALES OF THE WILDLIFE ARTIST OF THE YEAR EXHIBITION BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 12-16 AT THE MALL GALLERIES IN LONDON.

This work is part of a series of 7 small pastel drawings celebrating the grandeur of some of the most iconic wildlife species on our planet.

I've had many experiences with Cheetahs over the years during my travels in Africa. The most iconic one must have been witnessing the reintroduction of a female Cheetah into a private game reserve in South Africa. We helped the wildlife vet trans-locating her (in the backseat of our car!) from one reserve to another to restore population dynamics in the region. I used field sketches and tapped into these memories to create this artwork.

The proceeds of this artwork will go to The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. DSWF is a highly effective wildlife conservation charity operating across Africa and Asia to end wildlife crime and protect endangered species in their natural habitat. Working from grassroots to the world stage, DSWF adopts a holistic approach to conservation. They put people at the heart of their work and take into consideration the vital importance of communities in the fight to protect the world’s most endangered wildlife.
