This painting is a impression of the elusive Jaguar on the riverbanks of the Pantanal in Brazil, where they are sometimes seen while sunbathing or hunting capybaras and caiman. The work is inspired by several reference photos by a friend and my own travels in Costa Rica, where they are occasionally seen roaming the beaches hunting sea turtles.

The proceeds of this artwork will go to the Toucan Rescue Ranch, a non-profit organisation situated in Costa Rica, specializing in rescuing, rehabilitating and rewilding wounded birds and mammals like toucans, sloths, kinkajous and owls. I visited the rescue center myself and was so impressed by the tireless work and genuine passion of this team to help animals. I highly recommend the onsite tour visits and chatting to the staff members if you are visiting Costa Rica.
